The Internal Audit Division at TD is comprised of trusted audit professionals who interact with every part of the Bank to provide strategic guidance and independent oversight. About The Program
The TD Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Leadership Associate Program – Audit & Finance Stream, is an immersive 30-month program designed to help you step into our world of audit and finance. The goal of the program is to develop a leadership pipeline for individuals committed to pursuing a career in Audit at TD.
If you have a sharp analytical mind coupled with excellent communication skills and a tendency to get to the bottom of things, we want you to be part of our program.
In this program you’ll rotate across Internal Audit and Finance in order to meet CPA task statements and expand your network, while gaining an understanding of Internal Audit and Finance at TD. Your rotations will consist of:
- Internal Audit (2x 8-month rotations): See the bank from the “third line of defense” perspective and deliver high quality assurance services to our diverse internal audit clients. Internal Audit Groups could include teams such as: TD Securities, Retail, IT, Wealth, and Finance.
And one rotation in either of:
- Chief Accountant’s Department (1x 14-month rotation): Gain exposure to the world of financial reporting and implementation of accounting policies in the organization, or
- Finance (1x 14-month rotation): Gain experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting in a TD Business Line Finance team, or
- Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (1x 14-month rotation): Gain experience delivering high quality assurance over the accuracy and reliability of TD's financial statements
Please note that program structure rotations and their durations are subject to change and may be adjusted in response to updates and pending approvals from CPA Ontario, as they are announced. The 30 months duration of the program will include time for vacation, study and the CPA Professional Readiness Module.

- Full coverage of exam and module fees related to the CPA program
- Internal and external training in preparation for CPA related exams

Gain hands-on experience across key finance functions by applying audit, accounting, and financial expertise to:
- Internal Audit: Execute audit engagements, assess control effectiveness, and deliver insights that enhance risk management and governance.
- Chief Accountant’s Group: Support accounting research, policy development, and implementation of new standards across the enterprise.
- Segment Finance: Perform financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering to support strategic decision-making.
- ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting): Evaluate and strengthen control frameworks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Across rotations, identify opportunities to enhance business processes, deliver actionable recommendations, and drive continuous improvement within your areas of responsibility.
Experience Growth
- Receive structured feedback and ongoing support from the CPA Program Lead, dedicated CPA Mentors and rotation host managers
- Participate in formal and informal performance assessments and targeted coaching during each rotation
- Build technical expertise through CPA-specific training, complemented by hands-on, on-the-job experience

What You Need to Succeed

- Committed to completing the CPA designation during the completion of the program and pursuing a career in Audit

- Independent thinker who takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities or minimize problems
- Excellent business acumen, verbal communication (both one-on-one and in small groups) and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, plus ability to develop business relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask through previous work experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Copilot

Additional Information
Eligibility Requirements
- Students entering their final year of studies (Bachelor’s, postgraduate or Master’s) in Accounting or Finance with top quartile standing from an Accredited PSI
- Undergraduate degree meeting all eligibility requirements for entry into CPA Ontario Foundational Development (by the start date in 2027), including successful completion of CPA Qualifying Courses as outlined by CPA Ontario (as per CPA Ontario website)
- Dedication to obtaining the CPA designation
