Open original postingThe Amazon Retail team is seeking a program manager to operate as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) and will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable mechanisms, tools, and programs that serve all product categories across the AU Retail organization to drive advertising success at scale. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building and executing a groundbreaking program that provides strategic guidance and support to Amazon’s largest Retail vendors in their advertising efforts.
As a program manager, you will own programs across all categories, reporting infrastructure, vendor education, and partner ecosystem management. You will coordinate a network of Amazon Ads subject matter experts (SMEs) who deploy and execute programs at the vendor level within their respective Product Families. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Program Development and Management:
• Maintain, optimize, and expand a suite of programs across all product categories including partnership with Agencies and Tech Partners, improved Ads investment on ASINs during Amazon tent-pole events, exploring opportunities to increase Ads participation during other deal events throughout the year, Vendor Education, and supporting internal stakeholders.
• Develop and refine processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance vendor engagement and drive successful advertising strategies.
• Own the strategic roadmap for Retail × Ads programs; design accountability frameworks, decision rights (RACI), and communication protocols across PM and Ads SMEs.
• Build, manage and track a program to support our vendors at scale to onboard to Amazon preferred partner network.
2. Vendor Education, Reporting and Data:
• Own the reporting infrastructure - build dashboards, write and maintain data queries, consolidate cross category financial data for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR). Engage with internal senior stakeholders (Retail leadership, Ads leadership, Ads SMEs) to present data insights and drive decisions.
• Design and produce vendor education programs (webinar series, training decks) in partnership with the Amazon Advertising team; manage webinar logistics, scheduling, content production, and post-event reporting.
• Design and deliver internal Retail team training on Advertising strategy and create scalable training modules for vendor managers and brand specialists teams.
3. Cross-Functional and SME Coordination:
• Manage and coordinate a network of PF-level Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); define accountability frameworks, intake processes, and deployment protocols for cross-PF programs.
• Arbitrate cross-PF decisions and conflicts; own the escalation path to L7 Sponsor for unresolved disputes; set precedent for program governance.
• Serve as the single Centre of Excellence for all Retail × Ads programs — owning program design, methodology, tooling, and reporting across the AU Retail organisation.
• Foster relationships with external partners (advertising agencies, tech partners to expand vendor support capabilities.
• Coordinate with JP/WW Ads counterparts on programs with international scope.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex environments. Experience in advertising, marketing, or a related field is highly desirable, along with a deep understanding of Amazon’s ecosystem and vendor relationships. Experience in program governance, operating model design, and managing distributed teams is highly valued. Proficiency in data analysis, dashboard creation, and business review preparation is essential.

• Own and maintain a reporting infrastructure (dashboards, queries) to consolidate cross category advertising data and goal tracking; prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews with insights and action plans.
• Facilitate cross-PF program connects and weekly Office to support vendor managers and brand specialists and drive program adoption.
• Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders across Retail (PF Leads, Category Leaders, vendor manager/brand specialist), Advertising team, and external partners (agencies/tech partners) to drive adoption at scale. Define and maintain the PM-SME Scope & Accountability Framework - decision rights, escalation protocols, and operating model documentation for the Retail × Ads program.
• Design and deliver vendor webinar series and internal Retail team training programs; coordinate content with Amazon Advertising team, production and legal teams.

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
