Responsibilities
- Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys' technology platform.
- Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance micro service-based applications
- Produce high-quality software with a scalable architecture and design principles
- Designing and implementing microservices which use the spring boot framework.
- Working in compliance with the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Connecting microservices to interact with databases.
- Understanding of how streaming technologies work such as Kafka.
- Identifying and finding solutions to bugs.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding, debugging, and code review workflows for faster delivery cycles.
Requisite Qualifications
- Excellent programming and designing skills with 4-7 years hands on experience in Java back-end development and skills with Spring-boot framework
- Good understanding of relational databases like Oracle and/or NoSQL DB, preferably Cassandra
- Professional experience working on indexing technology like Elastic Search and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms, application design.
- Real life experience with Continuous Delivery principles and related tools (Kubernetes, AKS, Docker)
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants (Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar) and the ability to effectively use them for rapid prototyping, code generation, and productivity gains.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor or master's degree in computer science
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to measurably reduce development cycle time.
