For everyone, everywhere.More about our mission and what we offer.Job DescriptionWise is looking for a Senior Compliance Specialist to join the UAE Compliance team. We work closely with teams across Wise (including first line operations, product, and banking teams) to provide guidance on financial crime controls (KYC, AML, Sanctions, Fraud) and regulatory compliance matters. Externally, Compliance is also responsible for representing Wise’s compliance program to stakeholders, such as regulators, law enforcement, and partner banks.As a Senior Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the creation and management of a Compliance program that is driven by Wise’s mission for money without borders, transparency, and protecting customers. We are looking for someone with exceptional organizational and communication skills, prior compliance/risk/audit experience, an excitement and desire to learn, and someone who enjoys working as part of a team.DUTIESRegulatory Compliance:Working with stakeholders to ensure UAE’s regulatory reports are filed accurately and on time. This will also include the opportunity to suggest and lead process changes which enhance accuracy, transparency and speed.Log, analyse, share and track the completion of ad-hoc regulatory requests and noticesConduct horizon scanning for the UAE, and share initial analysis with stakeholdersFinancial Crime: Initial point-of-contact for financial crimes escalations and requests submitted from first line operations teams. Conduct initial information triage and assessment of escalations, contact relevant stakeholders and compliance officers for their approval, and track the progress of open escalations.Respond to subpoenas and information requests sent to Wise by law enforcement and other financial institutionsPerform proactive and ad-hoc reviews of customer activity to detect previously unknown areas of risk.Other Responsibilities: Assist with audits, regulatory exams, and partner due diligence including tracking the progress of state exams and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely responses.Contribute to the development and delivery of compliance training for Wise employees and Board members.Assist with the preparation of Governance material, such as metrics, and Board packs, papers and presentationsAssist with various compliance related initiatives and tasks, as needed, including gap remediations, updating internal policy library, risk assessments, and approval of new partners and products.QualificationsREQUIREMENTS2-5 years of financial services compliance, risk or audit experienceHighly developed communication and writing skillsAbility to adapt to change and prioritiseAbility to work collaboratively across multiple team functions, cultures, and geographies Ability to identify and solve problems and inefficienciesSelf-starter and able to work independentlyExceptional organisational and time management skillsAdditional InformationFor everyone, everywhere.
