Role Summary

The Mechanical Field Engineer will be based in Singapore in support of the TenneT 2GW Offshore Platform project during fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning phases. The role is intended for a fresh graduate who will build practical engineering capability while contributing to one of the most important offshore HVDC platform projects supporting the global energy transition.

Working in close coordination with the back-end engineering team in Europe and the site execution team in Singapore, the Graduate Mechanical Engineer will support the management of engineering interfaces and assist in resolving site execution issues, clarifications, and technical disputes arising from engineering documents. This includes mechanical drawings, structural interfaces, specifications, fabrication details, installation requirements, and revision updates.

Supported by experienced engineers and site leaders, the Graduate Mechanical Engineer will contribute to issue tracking, technical coordination, document clarification, and execution follow-up while learning GE Vernova documentation, engineering governance, and project change management processes.

This role offers broad exposure to offshore mechanical engineering, equipment and structural interfaces, fabrication and installation processes, quality requirements, testing support, and commissioning readiness within a major HVDC project environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support coordination between the Europe-based engineering team and the Singapore site execution team on mechanical engineering matters.

- Assist site teams in resolving issues arising from mechanical engineering documents, fabrication drawings, layouts, specifications, structural details, and revision changes.

- Help track, document, and follow up technical queries, site clarifications, deviations, punch points, and engineering action items.

- Support communication of construction feedback, redlines, marked-up drawings, and site constraints to the relevant engineering stakeholders.

- Contribute to ensuring that engineering requests and responses are properly recorded and routed to the appropriate stakeholders.

- Assist with monitoring corrective actions in collaboration with engineering package teams, fabrication teams, and project stakeholders.

- Support implementation of approved engineering solutions at site in alignment with project procedures and controlled change processes.

- Work with Document Control, Quality, and site teams to maintain proper revision control and as-built documentation.

- Participate in technical and coordination meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, partners, and client-related stakeholders when required.

- Support safe execution by ensuring that proposed technical solutions comply with applicable EHS, quality, and project requirements.

- Learn and apply GE Vernova documentation processes, interface management practices, and engineering escalation routes.

- Develop technical knowledge in offshore mechanical systems, fabrication, installation methods, testing support, and commissioning preparation.

Desired Profile

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

- Fresh graduates.

- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industrial project documentation.

- Familiarity with technical documents such as specifications, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts, equipment datasheets, interface drawings, and installation details.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information with attention to detail.

- Awareness of document revision control, change management, and interface coordination is an advantage.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
