Accountabilities:
- Serve as the primary manufacturing systems subject matter expert for software product and engineering teams, providing guidance on production scheduling, capacity planning, bottleneck management, inventory control, and shop-floor workflows.
- Partner with product managers and technical teams to translate complex manufacturing processes into clear software requirements, ensuring solutions accurately reflect real-world operational needs.
- Review and validate user stories, technical specifications, and prototypes from a manufacturing operations perspective before development and deployment.
- Build trusted relationships with plant managers, production planners, and operations leaders, acting as a bilingual advisor and connection point between manufacturing teams and software stakeholders.
- Gather operational feedback, identify process improvement opportunities, and convert business challenges into actionable product enhancements.
- Support manufacturing system implementations by traveling to facilities, ensuring operational data, production parameters, routing logic, and capacity models are accurately configured.
- Act as an escalation point for complex issues involving the interaction between software systems and physical manufacturing processes.
- Monitor system adoption and effectiveness after deployment, helping teams optimize workflows, reporting, and operational performance.
- 4+ years of professional experience in manufacturing environments, with strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, capacity management, inventory tracking, and operational workflows.
- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate technical concepts, software requirements, and manufacturing metrics in both languages.
- Experience working with enterprise manufacturing systems such as MIS, ERP, MRP, or MES platforms, particularly in areas related to scheduling and inventory management.
- Ability to independently operate within a software product environment, identify opportunities, build relationships, and drive initiatives forward.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and the ability to connect business processes with technical solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25–40% of business days to support manufacturing facilities and stakeholder collaboration.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence both technical and operational teams.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum software development teams is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools used for operational reporting and capacity management dashboards is a plus.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
