Accountabilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle management of a complex portfolio of grants, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and private funding regulations.
- Interpret grant requirements independently and advise leadership on compliance risks, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, and financial performance in coordination with finance teams to ensure proper use of funds and alignment with allowable cost structures.
- Oversee all programmatic and financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness across all submissions.
- Develop and improve grant tracking systems, reporting tools, and dashboards to strengthen transparency, oversight, and decision-making capabilities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for grantors, managing communication related to compliance, reporting, audits, and monitoring activities.
- Contribute to emergency preparedness and response communications strategy, ensuring consistency across public-facing channels and alignment with funding requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between program, finance, and communications teams to support integrated grant execution and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in grants management, compliance, reporting, or monitoring, preferably within federal or state-funded programs.
- Strong knowledge of grant regulations, cost allowability rules, documentation standards, and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple grants simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines.
- Experience working across cross-functional teams including finance, programs, and communications in a structured organizational environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft reports, summaries, and donor-facing materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grants management or database systems.
- Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and operate independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience supporting communications outputs such as newsletters, websites, or public messaging is a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 10 percent and support occasional evening or weekend work during emergency response situations.
