About the role:We are looking for a Staff Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram, Christchurch.
What you will be doing
We will NOT be reviewing any international candidates. Applicants MUST hold a current New Zealand Work Visa (or similar) or be eligible to work in New Zealand as sponsorship is not available. Applicants may be eligible for relocation within NZ. #SST
What you will be doing
- Work on the identification and evaluation of appropriate components for use in our product designs.
- Working with suppliers, purchasing staff, and product development engineers from a part’s selection until its approval.
- Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
- Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability.
- Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena).
- Detail Oriented / Accurate
- Integrity – Ability to say “No” when evaluating approvals
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
- 8+ years’ experience outside of university in Electrical Engineering.
