This is a hands-on database operations and reliability-focused role responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of large-scale, enterprise database environments across development, QA, and production systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining high availability for business-critical data platforms while supporting a wide range of relational and NoSQL databases in both on-prem and cloud environments. The role involves day-to-day monitoring, incident response, performance tuning, and proactive maintenance to ensure optimal system health. You will also support AWS RDS environments and contribute to automation efforts that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload. Working closely with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams, you will help resolve complex cross-system issues and support database deployments and upgrades. Accountabilities:

    • Monitor and maintain database health, performance, backups, replication, and storage utilization across multiple database platforms including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
    • Perform daily operational checks, log analysis, and alert triage to ensure system stability, availability, and performance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to performance degradation, connectivity issues, failed jobs, and resource bottlenecks.
    • Manage database changes including deployments, schema updates, configuration adjustments, patching, and version upgrades.
    • Support AWS RDS environments including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, backups, snapshots, replication, and high-availability setups.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, network, and cloud teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
    • Maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures while supporting continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree or 5–7 years of equivalent experience in database administration or operations support roles.
      • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major database platform (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or MongoDB).
      • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.
      • Experience working with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or GCP Cloud SQL.
      • Strong skills in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and interpreting database monitoring metrics and logs.
      • Knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability architectures.
      • Scripting experience in Shell, Python, or PowerShell for automation and operational tasks.
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional, distributed environments.
      • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and handle incident-driven workloads.
