As Commercial Manager, you will be a key member of the hotel leadership team, responsible for driving revenue growth, market share and profitability across Rooms, Meetings & Events, and Food & Beverage.
Working closely with the Hotel Manager, Revenue Management, Sales and Operations teams, you will develop and execute commercial strategies that maximise performance while delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership, requiring a commercially astute professional who can build high-performing teams, strengthen client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
What will I be doing?
• Lead and inspire the Commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Hilton's values and service standards.
• Develop and execute sales, revenue and commercial strategies that drive market share, profitability and long-term business growth.
• Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets across corporate, leisure, MICE, rooms and catering segments.
• Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, occupancy and yield performance, including achievement of RGI targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners and stakeholders, while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular market analysis, competitive benchmarking and customer research to identify opportunities and respond to market trends.
• Develop and manage targeted account plans, ensuring effective prospecting, conversion and retention strategies.
• Lead weekly sales meetings, monitor team performance and provide coaching, development and succession planning for team members.
• Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting on commercial performance.
• Collaborate with Marketing to create impactful sales campaigns, promotions and partnership opportunities.
• Act as an active member of the hotel leadership team, contributing to strategic initiatives, operational excellence and business planning.
• Champion workplace health, safety, sustainability and Hilton's commitment to creating rewarding experiences for guests, team members and the local community.
• Proven experience in a senior Sales, Commercial, Revenue or Business Development leadership role within the hotel, hospitality or tourism industry.
• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, market share and profitability across multiple business segments.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in revenue management, sales strategy, forecasting and budgeting.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience managing corporate, leisure, MICE and group business segments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed business decisions using data and market insights.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in CRM, sales and hotel management systems; experience with Delphi and Hilton systems is advantageous.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety obligations and best practices.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Hospitality Management, Sales, Marketing or a related discipline are preferred.
