Job Description

Job Summary

The Contracts Manager, North America, is responsible for leading the negotiation and management of commercial agreements across the region, working closely with business, sales, and legal teams to support company objectives while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements. This individual contributor role focuses on developing and maintaining strong business relationships with customers, vendors, and partners through the negotiation, structuring, drafting, and administration of a wide range of contractual agreements.

The position plays a key role in identifying and mitigating contractual risks, providing guidance to internal stakeholders on risk management strategies, and ensuring that contractual terms align with company standards. The Contracts Manager leads contract negotiations with internal and external parties, collaborates with business leaders, legal counsel, and cross-functional teams to obtain approvals for non-standard contract terms, and helps drive successful business outcomes while maintaining a high standard of integrity, operational excellence, and customer focus.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Leading the negotiating and drafting of sales/purchase agreements, nondisclosure agreements, master purchase agreements, and master services agreements. 

  • Reviewing and seeking out contractual risks, and guide others within the organization on ways to mitigate those risks. 

  • Interacting with people from business units, legal counsel, and other functions to obtain approval for non-standard contractual positions. 

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the company on contractual rights and remedies. 

  • Developing and carrying out training plans on company contracting processes. 

  • Networking globally with key contacts outside one’s own area of expertise. 

  • Growing personally and professionally through continuous learning and development of skills. 

  • Making an impact on departmental process improvements and project activities. 

  • Participating in global calls and meetings via phone, Teams, or occasionally travel in-person. 

  • Giving customers a valuable experience. 

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in negotiating terms and conditions of sales or purchase contracts. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law or business or related field. 

  • Hybrid work-from-home and at a Rockwell Automation facility in Mexico City (Santa Fe). Rockwell Automation will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. 

  • Occasional business travel within the designated region(s).  

  • Excellent English speaking, comprehension, and writing skills. 

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Additional language speaking, comprehension and writing skills 

  • Post-graduate law degree. 

  • Experience with negotiating contracts for Engineered-To-Order Solutions, Engineering Services, Software, Industrial Automation, and/or Technology. 

  • Confidence with speaking in group settings and initiative to drive negotiations to a close. 

  • Strategic business focus as well as a strong code of ethics.
