We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer – Mission Integration Lead, supporting one of our premier programs in the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit. As a Mission Integration Lead, you will help deliver next-generation satellite ground command and control capabilities by serving as the technical champion and steward for an assigned class of vehicles. You will advocate across the program to ensure the capabilities required for your assigned mission area are successfully developed, integrated, delivered, and prepared for transition to operations. This position is contingent upon contract award, and the work is on-site in Aurora, CO.
What You Will Do
Serve as the technical champion and steward for your assigned class of vehicles throughout development, integration, delivery, and transition to operations.
Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in mission objectives, operational concepts, interfaces, and system capabilities.
Partner with Product Management and the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) to align technical execution with program priorities and milestone objectives.
Advocate across multiple Agile Delivery Teams to ensure required capabilities, technical work, and integration activities are delivered on schedule.
Identify technical, integration, interface, and schedule risks affecting your assigned mission area and drive timely resolution.
Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Cyber, Integration & Test, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to deliver mission capabilities.
Represent your mission area during customer engagements, technical interchange meetings, demonstrations, design reviews, and milestone events.
Develop trusted relationships with customers, users, and external partners to understand mission needs, shape technical solutions, and mature critical interfaces.
Influence backlog priorities by advocating for the technical work necessary to achieve program milestones.
Foster collaboration across engineering organizations to enable informed technical trade studies and integrated decision making.
Support continuous improvement of mission integration processes, technical planning, and cross-functional execution.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience leading the technical execution of complex software-intensive systems or systems-of-systems within a government or defense environment.
Experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines, including Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Integration & Test, Cyber, Infrastructure, and Operations.
Experience influencing technical direction, resolving complex integration challenges, and supporting execution within Agile software development environments.
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience serving as a Technical Lead, Systems Engineering Lead, Chief Engineer, Product Owner, or similar technical leadership role.
Experience supporting satellite ground systems, mission management systems, command and control systems, or other mission-critical software systems.
Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.
Experience defining and integrating software interfaces using OpenAPI specifications, service-oriented architectures, or other modern integration patterns.
Experience leading cross-functional integration efforts spanning multiple engineering organizations.
Experience supporting customer demonstrations, technical interchange meetings, operational events, or fielded capabilities.
Experience with modern software development practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems.
Experience using Agile development and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
