During pre-sales, the architect works with other solutions architects, industry representatives, deal teams, and delivery teams to ensure the IBM solutions meets the requirements in the Request for Information/Proposal (RFI/RFP). Additionally, the architect works across IBM lines of business to influence client technical strategy to position IBM solutions and offerings for opportunities within the client ecosystem. From a post-sales perspective, the solution architect is responsible for ensuring the solution is well documented and communicated to CSS/PES-F teams delivery teams, offering owners, and Program/project managers. As a Technical Solution Architect for Cloud Solutions, you will assume overall technical responsibility for the success of Cloud solution construction, implementation, and system integration in cloud technology for multiple industries or business specialties. You will deliver new and complex high-quality cloud solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Design Comprehensive Cloud Solutions: Architect a comprehensive solution that utilizes the IBM Cloud Computing design and blueprint principles to meet the customer's requirements, demonstrating the ability to provide a client with a roadmap from their current IT environment to an IBM Cloud Computing solution. • Demonstrate Cloud Computing Concepts: Demonstrate the IBM Cloud Computing concepts and design principles, showcasing deep technical expertise of cloud products and solutions from business requirements to cloud deployment. • Apply Cloud Management Principles: Demonstrate the applicability of IBM's Cloud Management Principle: Operation Model, Service Delivery, and Service Management, utilizing in-depth knowledge of leading-edge cloud products and technology. • Deliver High-Quality Solutions: Deliver new and complex high-quality cloud solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements, influencing clients with industry and business skills. • Develop Client Roadmaps: Provide clients with a roadmap from their current IT environment to an IBM Cloud Computing solution, demonstrating the design, plan, architecture, and management principles of an IBM cloud computing infrastructure. This position can be based anywhere in the United States. **Required technical and professional expertise** • Deep Technical Expertise in Cloud Products: Possess in-depth knowledge of leading-edge cloud products and technology, with the ability to design, plan, architect, and manage cloud computing infrastructures. • Cloud Solution Architecture Experience: Have experience architecting comprehensive cloud solutions that meet customer requirements, utilizing IBM Cloud Computing design and blueprint principles. • Cloud Management Principle Application: Demonstrate expertise in applying IBM's Cloud Management Principle, including Operation Model, Service Delivery, and Service Management. • Industry and Business Acumen: Possess industry and business skills to influence clients and deliver high-quality cloud solutions in response to varying business requirements. • Cloud Deployment Expertise: Have deep technical expertise in cloud products and solutions, from business requirements to cloud deployment, with the ability to provide clients with a roadmap to an IBM Cloud Computing solution. General knowledge of best practices across: custom application development and maintenance, agentic AI, and traditional on-premises IT infrastructure support. **Preferred technical and professional experience** • Understanding of the US Federal government procurement process, technical environments, security requirements, regulations, etc. • Advanced Cloud Solution Design: Deep expertise in designing comprehensive cloud solutions that meet customer requirements, utilizing Cloud Computing design and blueprint principles to deliver high-quality cloud solutions. • Leading-Edge Cloud Technology: In-depth knowledge of leading-edge cloud products and technology, with the ability to apply IBM's Cloud Management Principle, including Operation Model, Service Delivery, and Service Management. • Multi-Industry Cloud Expertise: Experience architecting cloud solutions for multiple industries or business specialties, with the ability to provide clients with a roadmap from their current IT environment to a Cloud Computing solution.
