The Corporate Investigator is responsible for investigating reports of internal theft, vandalism, fraud, suspicious activity, and violations of company policy under the guidance of the GI Regional Manager. The Corporate Investigator utilizes technology, analysis, interviewing, and assessment techniques to protect and safeguard personnel, information, and assets.
Investigations range from moderate to complex in nature, with senior investigator and GI Regional Manager collaboration on high-profile or sensitive matters. Corporate Investigators work as part of a team, providing support and resources to local stakeholders across global locations, and are expected to embrace the concepts of continuous process improvement, innovation, and shared risk management.


Key job responsibilities
- Analyze CCTV video, access control systems, and other data collection capabilities in response to incidents to identify behaviors, root causes, locations, potential evidence, and/or person(s) involved.
- Organize, prioritize, and investigate multiple incidents as part of a managed caseload, with overlapping deadlines and priorities, escalating complex matters to the GI Regional Manager as appropriate.
- Collect, document, and preserve video, still images, documents, and other evidence/materials connected to an investigation and maintain them as part of the investigations’ workflow and case adjudication process.
- Conduct interviews of victims, witnesses, and persons of interest utilizing established interviewing techniques and skills specific to corporate investigations, with mentorship from senior team members on complex or sensitive interviews.
- Conduct investigations related to threats originating from external sources outside the company, and internal incidents and issues such as theft of assets or intellectual property, vandalism across the enterprise.
- Utilize a structured investigative workflow and case management system to track and close investigations and analyze trends and patterns to identify causation, mitigate loss, and support process changes to prevent future incidents.
- Demonstrate developing written and verbal communication skills, including clear and precise writing, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to empathize and verbally connect with people during both stressful and non-stressful situations while facilitating accurate recollection using non-threatening, non-coercive questioning and open-ended conversation.
- Actively participate in training and mentoring opportunities, seek feedback from senior investigators and GI Regional Managers, and share knowledge with peers as competencies develop.
- Conduct and manage investigations utilizing both automated and manual tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat DC, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft Word, Lenel, Microsoft Outlook, and a cloud-based case management system.
- Assist in compiling and publishing case management metrics.


A day in the life
Corporate investigator II reviews the new cases assigned by the regional Investigations manager for appropriate investigation. Shares initial response to the incident reporters. Reviews the progress of cases under his/her investigation. Connects with stakeholders for support in terms of cases investigations. Conducts investigative interviews with employees, as per the need of the investigation. Review video records, badge records, availability of witnesses etc. Identifies stakeholder teams that provide additional information or data on a specific case investigation and reaches out to those stakeholder team POC for required support. Shares closed cases for review with regional manager and actions those cases once approved.

About the team
The Enterprise Protection Program – Global Investigations (EPP-GI) team is a specialized unit within Corporate Security & Investigations dedicated to safeguarding personnel, information, and assets across the global enterprise. Operating across AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions, the team conducts investigations ranging from internal theft and fraud to external threats and policy violations. EPP-GI embraces continuous process improvement, innovation, and shared risk management, fostering a collaborative environment where investigators support one another and local stakeholders across global locations. The team values mentorship, professional development, and building strong partnerships both internally and with external industry groups.

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Social Work
- Experience in Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management or a related field that involves conducting threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response
- Experience designing and implementing investigative tactics, including interviewing and documentation
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience conducting corporate, product, and/or vendor investigations with increasing complexity
- Foundational investigative and analytical skills specific to a corporate high-tech environment, including CCTV video review and preservation, an understanding of Chain of Custody, and knowledge of the methods of investigation

Preferred qualifications

- Experience using video analytics tools
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certification
- Experience working with security personnel in a corporate or government environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to identify security gaps and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation recommendations and plans, from a multidisciplinary perspective.
- Interest in building and maintaining Public/Private partnerships and safety-related committees and industry groups.
- Experience managing investigations in a global organization - private sector experience preferred.
- Results-oriented leader that possesses strong influencing skill and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
