Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Foundation Development Coordinator with our Hospice House, you will play a key role in advancing philanthropic support for the Foundation by planning and executing activities tied to major and planned gifts, while building lasting relationships with donors and prospective donors. You'll help drive a comprehensive fundraising strategy designed to grow philanthropic support and cultivate a base of loyal, consistent donors.

 

Every day you will collaborate with your supervisor to prepare fundraising materials and analyze financial and demographic data to guide donor strategy. You'll develop annual communications and case statements that engage internal and external audiences around charitable giving, all while operating within budget and cost/benefit guidelines. You'll also partner with the Foundation office on donor stewardship events, signage, and recognition functions, keeping customer relations front and center and staying current on fundraising initiatives to strengthen the Foundation's annual giving program.

  • Develops annual communications to educate internal/external audiences on charitable giving opportunities
  • Actively participates in Foundation operations within budget, focused on cost/benefit
  • Collaborates with the Foundation office on donor stewardship events and donor signage
  • Assists in planning and implementing donor recognition functions
  • Maintains customer relations as a top priority, focused on hospital and Foundation needs
  • Stays current on successful healthcare philanthropy initiatives to incorporate into the annual giving program

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record in establishing and achieving goals
  • Superior ability to establish donor relationships
  • If working in a unit located in or traveling to Iowa, or a Behavioral Health/Psych unit: Mandatory Reporter Adult and Mandatory Reporter Child required; tracked through the Learning system.

Preferred

  • Three (3) years fundraising experience 
  • Major gift fundraising experience
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
