The Role
Mach Industries is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities across the organization. This role will work closely with the Corporate Controller and broader operations team to maintain accurate financial records, support internal reporting, and assist with accounting processes.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop hands-on experience in a fast-paced defense technology environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, learning new systems quickly, and working collaboratively across departments.
You will support a wide range of accounting functions including reconciliations, invoice processing, financial tracking, reporting support, and general finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enter financial data within QuickBooks and internal accounting systems
Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination
Assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification
Prepare and maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities
Assist with journal entries and financial data reviews under the guidance of the Corporate Controller
Track project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity
Generate reports and financial summaries for leadership and program teams
Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies and escalate issues as needed
Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and internal financial analysis
Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation
Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools
Provide operational and administrative support to the finance organization as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1+ years of accounting experience including internships or entry-level finance roles
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Valid state-issued driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting finance or accounting operations within government contracting, aerospace, manufacturing, or defense environments
Familiarity with DCAA, FAR, or government accounting practices is preferred
Experience working with expense reporting, reconciliations, or financial tracking systems
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or project cost tracking
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Self-starter capable of learning quickly and adapting to changing priorities
High level of professionalism and discretion when handling financial information

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations.
