Abbott Core Diagnostics is hiring Software Engineers (Full‑Stack or Front-End) to join its team in Milan - The role required to be in office 4 days per week

About the role

As an Informatics Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing next-generation software solutions for diagnostic products. You will work across the full software lifecycle — from requirements definition to development, testing, and post‑launch support.

This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, high-impact systems, working on both user-facing applications and robust backend services within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze user and business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure applications
  • Contribute to software architecture and system design
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, and other R&D stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Support released products and continuous improvements
  • Work in compliance with quality and regulatory standards

Requirements

Full‑Stack Engineer

  • 3+ years of experience in software development
  • C# / .NET
  • JavaScript or TypeScript (React)
  • SQL (Oracle or other RDBMS)
  • Strong knowledge of OOP principles
  • Fluent English

Front-End Engineer

  • 3+ years of experience
  • JavaScript or TypeScript (React)
  • Strong knowledge of OOP principles
  • Fluent English

Nice to have (for both roles)

  • Experience in healthcare or diagnostics
  • Unit and integration testing
  • Git and Agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) – Full-Stack engineer
  • RESTful APIs
  • Cybersecurity and secure-by-design practices
  • Docker / Kubernetes – Full-Stack engineer
  • SOLID principles
