Accountabilities:
- Support engineering teams by maintaining resilient Kubernetes environments and providing guidance on platform best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform while contributing to the migration toward Crossplane.
- Build and enhance internal platform services and automation tools, including Python-based solutions.
- Manage cloud infrastructure across multiple regions, including Kubernetes clusters, IAM, networking, and identity management.
- Troubleshoot production issues, investigate infrastructure incidents, and drive root cause analysis to improve platform reliability.
- Lead initiatives related to multi-region deployments, single-tenant environments, and Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) architectures.
- Improve observability by implementing dashboards, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions.
- Contribute to FinOps initiatives by optimizing cloud resource usage and improving cost visibility across environments.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to streamline development workflows, improve platform capabilities, and accelerate software delivery.
- Strong hands-on experience managing Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred, with EKS or other managed Kubernetes platforms also considered).
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, with knowledge of GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD.
- Experience managing IAM and cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, container orchestration, networking, and production infrastructure.
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana, Honeycomb, Datadog, New Relic, or similar platforms.
- Programming experience, particularly with Python, to build automation and internal platform tooling.
- Experience participating in or leading incident response and troubleshooting complex production systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams and explain complex infrastructure concepts.
- Experience working in startup or scale-up environments with a proactive, adaptable, and ownership-driven mindset.
- Experience with Crossplane, GPU workloads, or machine learning infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Temporal, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Grafana Alloy, Loki, or related observability tooling.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes security, compliance initiatives, or cloud security best practices.
