OVERVIEW:

Role Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insights Generation

  • Partner with the Manager of Strategy to execute analyses tied to key marketing and eCommerce initiatives

  • Analyze large, complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights

  • Aggregate and interpret multiple data sources to identify performance trends and uncover growth opportunities for the DICK’S business

  • Integrate primary research and first-, second-, and third-party data to develop well-rounded insights

  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to gather the data required to perform robust analyses

Storytelling, Case Development & Delivery

  • Support the development of case studies that demonstrate business impact and inform future strategy

  • Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives and presentations

  • Synthesize insights into structured, easy-to-understand outputs for stakeholder audiences

  • Contribute to the creation of executive-ready materials and recommendations

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and coordination to ensure high-quality, on-time output

  • Build strong working relationships with internal partners and external vendors

Strategic Initiatives Support:

  • Provide ad hoc support to the broader Strategy and Insights team and act as an internal consultant, providing thought leadership and analyses on key initiatives driven by senior leadership to support decision making

  • Participate in problem solving sessions with internal colleagues to drive conceptual thinking and pressure test analytical recommendations

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research in partnership with the Insights Team

Business & Competitive Intelligence + Consumer & Market Insights:

  • Leverage internal & external data sources to understand customer behavior, attitudes, and drivers

  • Generate insights on industry landscape, trends, and competitive dynamics in sporting goods and omnichannel retail

  • Aggregate and analyze internal and third-party data to inform the team and leadership on market performance and opportunities

  • Develop and track KPIs to assess impact of marketing and eCommerce initiatives

  • Support development of the “voice of the consumer” through data collection, insight generation, and analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business administration, finance, economics, or analytics

  • 1-3 years experience in Consulting, Strategy, Analytics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Experience with reporting and business intelligence platforms is a plus

  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus

  • Strong communicator & storyteller – excels in written, verbal, and presentation skills, translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations

  • Advanced analytical & modeling skills – builds and interprets large datasets, financial models, and business analyses

  • Strategic & conceptual thinker – drives both “blue sky” ideas and practical, data-informed solutions

  • Strong problem solver – tackles complex issues across functions with structured thinking and troubleshooting

  • User-centric mindset – deeply understands athlete needs and seeks out the athlete data/input to inform strategy and decision-making

  • Collaborative & influential – builds relationships across teams and levels, working effectively independently and cross-functionally

  • Thrives in ambiguous & fast-paced environments – operates effectively in fast-changing, high-growth environments

  • Disciplined project management – strong project management skills with focus on detail, execution, and accountability
