Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Manager

The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Manager for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) in Huntsville, Alabama. This manager will be responsible for the analysis, integration and algorithm development activities for the PAC-3 seeker system.
The IAMD Engineering team is responsible for designing RADAR seeker upgrades and next generation concepts, as well as supporting production and special test equipment design. This program encompasses concurrent design, test and manufacturing as new upgrades to this complex electro-mechanical assembly are incorporated into production. This long-term program is rapidly growing in Huntsville, Alabama due to design updates, production growth, and Boeing facilities consolidations. This role will directly support all development and software contracts within the IAMD portfolio.
A successful SEIT Manager will be responsible for the technical quality and successful execution of analysis, integration, and algorithm development activities across both the concept, development, and production environments of the PAC-3 seeker. Additionally, they will develop and implement the engineering strategy and processes for the teams under their responsibility.
Position Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the IAMD Systems Engineering and Integration Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
Day-to-day direction of a team of systems engineers to include management, development and motivation of employees
Responsible for engineering integrity and excellence of all engineering and technical activities of the Engineering teams including analysis, integration, and algorithm efforts
Integration and coordination of the systems engineering activities with the SEIT team and PAC-3 program stakeholders
Communication with external prime and U.S. Government stakeholders
Setting clear priorities to meet customer/stakeholder and business goals
Define, scope, and bid systems engineering activities and acquire necessary skilled resources for development contracts and software programs
Monitor program schedules and financials to ensure systems engineering scope is executed according to plan
Responsible for management of staffing levels, performance evaluations, performance development and career counseling.
Responsible for deploying Boeing Engineering Initiatives and best practices, as appropriate, for improved quality and efficiency

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physic or chemistry
Candidate's must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
Experience using Systems Engineering processes and tools
2+ years of leadership experience at a technical team lead level
Experience with project management and earned value management principles
Experience with Radar, communication, or EO/IR systems
Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) post start
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience managing a multi-disciplined technical team
Experience in pulse doppler radar system architectures and design/test practices
Experience with airborne radar systems, Seeker systems, or interceptor technology
Experience with Product Integration within a complex system
Experience designing or developing algorithms
Experience with Requirements development and verification at multiple levels within a system, down to the lowest level product
Experience presenting to program leaders and customers
Experience with customer coordination pertaining to complex systems
Experience with Agile Development processes

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
