Accountabilities:
- Develop secure APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications supporting federal healthcare systems and mission-critical platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process, normalize, and integrate structured and unstructured healthcare data.
- Implement healthcare data solutions aligned with standards such as FHIR, OMOP, HL7, and CDA to support analytics and decision-making.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain applications within secure, high-compliance cloud environments.
- Ensure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with federal compliance requirements.
- Design and optimize integrations between systems while improving interoperability and data accessibility.
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and contribute to continuous improvements across software development processes.
- Support the adoption of modern engineering practices, including automation, cloud-native development, and secure software delivery.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with expertise in backend development, APIs, or full-stack applications.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher required.
- Strong programming experience with Python, Java, C#, or similar backend-focused technologies.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs, including frameworks such as FastAPI, AWS Lambda, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines using technologies such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or Apache Iceberg.
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53, HIPAA, and FISMA High.
- Experience working with healthcare data standards such as FHIR, OMOP, HL7, or CDA is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with OCR, NLP, AI/ML workflows, or healthcare analytics solutions is a plus.
- Experience working with secure cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud (IL5/IL6), is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, data integration, security practices, and cloud-based application development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in complex technical environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and mission-focused teams.
