Accountabilities:

    • Administer and support Oracle database environments across Exadata infrastructure and Linux-based Standard Edition systems, ensuring stability and high availability.
    • Monitor database performance, capacity, and health across multiple customer environments, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
    • Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM configurations, including failover testing and disaster recovery readiness.
    • Perform advanced performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL tuning tools to optimize queries, memory usage, and system throughput.
    • Execute Oracle patching and lifecycle management, including PSU/RU updates, Exadata bundle patches, and grid infrastructure maintenance.
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, and PL/SQL to streamline DBA operations and monitoring tasks.
    • Design and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump, ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO objectives.
    • Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and root cause analysis for production database issues.
    • Requirements:

      • 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in enterprise or managed services environments.
      • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata (X8 or newer) and Oracle Standard Edition (SE2) on Linux (RHEL/OEL).
      • Deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and execution plan analysis tools.
      • Proven experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and high-availability architectures.
      • Strong background in Oracle patching cycles (PSU, RU, GI, Exadata patches) and change management processes.
      • Proficiency in RMAN backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery testing.
      • Strong scripting skills in Shell/Bash and PL/SQL; Python experience is a strong plus.
      • Solid understanding of Linux system administration in Oracle hosting environments.
      • Experience with automation, CI/CD integration, and infrastructure-as-code practices is preferred.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to document technical processes and collaborate across teams.
      • Oracle certification (OCP 19c or later) and cloud exposure (OCI or Azure) are strong advantages.
