Accountabilities:
- Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and within established timelines.
- Apply revenue recognition principles to ensure revenue is recorded correctly, including management of deferred revenue and unbilled revenue schedules.
- Reconcile billing records with contracts and sales documentation while collaborating with internal teams to ensure invoice accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, customer inquiries, and invoicing-related issues.
- Maintain accounts receivable and deferred revenue schedules while monitoring billing milestones and contractual requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve invoicing and revenue processes by reducing manual tasks, improving workflows, and supporting automation initiatives.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure contract terms are properly reflected in billing and revenue recognition activities.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with accurate supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and reliable financial information.
- Collaborate with finance colleagues and cross-functional teams while proactively escalating issues and following through on commitments.
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting role, ideally with exposure to revenue recognition, billing, invoicing, or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including revenue recognition concepts.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation pursuit or relevant accounting certification is considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when managing high volumes of financial transactions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities while working collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems or ERP tools.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $65,000 - $75,000 CAD, with additional earning potential through bonuses and benefits.
