Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Channel Programs will be responsible for sales (major account sales, distribution, product sell-through) to maximize Samsung market position, product penetration, and profitability within Verizon’s dealer and national retail partner channels.   The role directs the use of Samsung resources to achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives, developing and directing the implementation of one or more major account plans.  Develops account strategies and positioning activities for all accounts while responsible for acquiring and managing customer contracts, product commitments, and purchase orders, promotions, promotional spend, device launches, sales reporting, and weekly calls with internal and external customers.  The most critical performance measurements and the incentive compensation for this position are based on sales within assigned major account(s), sell-in/sell-out volume, and the management of sales expenses and marketing development funds/budgets (MDF/SD).  The role will lead coordinated efforts among Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Operations, Finance and other key internal stakeholders to develop and implement high impact strategic programs and promotions.

  • Responsible for support and management of key partners in Samsung’s dealer and national retail channels, developing relationships with client at all levels of management
  • Execute on Samsung’s dealer channel strategy, developing and implementing high-impact programs that achieve quarterly sales volume, revenue and gross profit targets
  • Drive national retail performance with key partners, aligning and coordinating with SEA’s National Retail team for Verizon account
  • Develop quarterly plans and bottoms up volume and revenue forecasts, defining program positioning, strategy, communication, and implementation
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to drive targets including promotions, incentives, and sales programs
  • Maintain program initiatives, maintenance, agreement contracts & extensions
  • Facilitate the development of co-branding efforts across Samsung, Verizon, and its shared partners
  • Analyze and track ROI and incremental return
  • Facilitate training (internal and external) on program
  • Coordinate the development of program collateral materials
  • Track and report channel and program results (scorecard maintenance and distribution)
  • Develop product launch and communication strategies
  • Partner with a broad team of Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and Operations to ensure coordinated and integrated communication of program positioning and selling strategies are executed successfully within the direct dealer channel
  • Manage key vendor relationships
  • Drive to targets with alignment of quarterly budgets

Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a business-related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of experience in telecommunications product sales or marketing leadership experience at a headquarters or national account sales level
  • Ability to quickly identify market and sales opportunities within wireless product technologies
  • Experience in developing successful activities that support strategic objectives
  • Proven results in driving and executing creative marketing and sales initiatives
  • Excellent project management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skilled at working with cross functional teams
  • Highly organized and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with distribution and supply chain management
  • A mastery of verbal and written communication in English
  • Comfortable dealing with multi-store accounts that require regular store and office visits

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects
  • Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed.
  • Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels
  • Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications
  • The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, based on sometime vaguely defined objectives

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

  • The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment
  • Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time
  • The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.
  • Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stres
  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work area
  • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule
  • Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions.  Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $147,000 and $182,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
