What You’ll DoSite Safety & LOTO Program Execution
- Lead and enforce LOTO procedures during commissioning, energization, start-up, and turnover activities.
- Develop, issue, and maintain LOTO permits for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
- Validate isolation points, verify energy sources, and ensure zero-energy state before work begins.
- Track, log, and close out LOTO actions in alignment with site-specific standards.
- Coordination With Commissioning Teams
- Align LOTO windows with commissioning scripts, MOPs, energization milestones, and FAT/SAT testing.
- Support Cx leads with safe sequencing of L2–L5 commissioning activities.
- Maintain real-time visibility of which systems are tagged out and who owns them.
Documentation & Controls
- Maintain LOTO logs, sign-in/sign-out control, permit boards, tag control, and audit documentation.
- Develop or refine energy control plans specific to mission-critical equipment.
- Assist with turnover packages, punchlists, and safety reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate with OFCI vendors, electrical foremen, mechanical foremen, controls techs, and safety managers.
- Support daily brief-outs with commissioning and construction stakeholders.
- Help the Owner maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific standards.
Required
- Current State Journeyman Electrician License (required).
- 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, industrial electrical work, commissioning, start-up, or electrical safety.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs in construction, industrial, utility, or mission-critical environments.
- Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, system isolation drawings, and energization plans.
- Strong understanding of OSHA Lockout/Tagout requirements and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multiple contractors, commissioning teams, and OFCI vendors.
- Ability to lead electrical safety activities in a fast-paced commissioning environment.
Preferred
- Data center commissioning or live electrical infrastructure experience.
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training or certification.
- Experience with medium-voltage power distribution systems.
- Experience supporting multi-shift commissioning schedules.
