In this role, you will join a collaborative team focused on maintaining system performance and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This is a multidisciplinary, hands-on role involving mechanical, electrical, and cryogenic systems. You will be responsible for building, upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex quantum computing systems that support our Leap™ quantum cloud service. You will also work closely with R&D teams to improve system reliability, serviceability, and operational processes. This position is based in Burnaby, BC, with occasional travel to customer and field sites. Participation in an on-call rotation supporting production systems is required. As a customer-facing role, strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential. What you'll doParticipate in system builds, installations, upgrades, and maintenance  Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain cryogenic and electromechanical systems in lab and field environments  Work closely with hardware and R&D teams to improve system design, reliability, and serviceability  Develop and improve service procedures, troubleshooting documentation, and incident response processes  Build strong working relationships with customers, partners, and host facilities personnel  Support production systems through participation in an on-call rotation What you'll bringBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent combination of education and experience  3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting complex multidisciplinary electromechanical systems in lab and/or production environments  Strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electromechanical systems  Experience with scripting, PLC logic, or programming languages such as Python or C/C++  Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and organizational skills  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams  Bonus pointsExperience with cryogenic and/or high-vacuum systems  Understanding of networking protocols, IT infrastructure, and Linux/UNIX operating systems  Experience with P&IDs, fluid control systems, or electromechanical control systems  Current or eligible registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC  Experience providing technical support or...
