Provides the emergency medical treatment to patients for Medical Center Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for Highly Qualified Applicants. This is an Open-Continuous announcement that will remain open until the position is filled. Duties include but are not limited to the following: The physicians practice emergency medicine in accordance with their professional training and experience and within the scope of their medical center privileges. Physicians assigned to the Emergency Medicine Service are responsible to the Emergency Medicine Service Chief who makes assignments, performs reviews and appraisals. Work is also subject to Peer Review and Ongoing and Focused Periodic Performance Evaluation by the Medical Staff Executive Committee Provides a full range of clinical services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care in their specialty. Performs appropriate evaluation and management of patients. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions to units/programs in the medical center to which they are assigned and has clinical privileges to practice including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation, and management. Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions. Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, GARF, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, VISN standards, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, mandatory continuing education, and HIPPA policies. Specific tasks are itemized in each physician's Credentialing and Privileging package. Physical requirements include but are not limited to: sitting, standing, light lifting and carrying (up to 20 lbs.), reaching above the shoulders, use of fingers and both hands, walking, correctable vision and hearing, mental and emotional stability. Customer Service: Relationships with management, co-workers, patients, and the public are consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative in nature. Employee will display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals. Employee will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for Highly Qualified Applicants.
