Overview

The Project Manager, Clinical Excellence is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and successful execution of enterprise-wide Clinical Excellence initiatives that support UF Health's strategic priorities. This role partners with physician, nursing, operational, and executive leaders to implement initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, infection prevention, patient experience, accreditation, and clinical performance improvement across the health system. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time and within scope while promoting standardized project management practices, fostering collaboration across multiple hospitals and departments, and supporting continuous improvement within the Office of the System Chief Quality Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of enterprise Clinical Excellence initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, and documentation.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary clinical, operational, and administrative teams to ensure successful project execution.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks, barriers, and dependencies.

  • Partner with physician, nursing, operational, and executive leaders to implement strategic Clinical Excellence initiatives.

  • Support initiatives related to quality, patient safety, infection prevention, patient experience, accreditation, and healthcare performance improvement.

  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders and provide regular project status updates, milestones, and outcomes to leadership.

  • Manage project resources and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

  • Promote standardized project management methodologies, governance, accountability, and best practices.

  • Facilitate collaboration across multiple hospitals and enterprise functions.

  • Support executive governance committees and multidisciplinary workgroups.

  • Drive organizational change and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience leading complex projects or programs.

  • Experience developing project plans, timelines, status reports, and project documentation.

  • Experience presenting project updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience in a healthcare system, academic medical center, consulting organization, or other complex organizational environment.

  • Experience supporting executive governance committees and multidisciplinary workgroups.

  • Experience facilitating organizational change and process improvement initiatives.

  • Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, clinical operations, accreditation, and healthcare performance improvement.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
