Accountabilities

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will play a key role in building scalable reliability practices, improving operational maturity, and partnering with engineering teams to create dependable systems. This position requires a balance of technical execution, strategic thinking, and process improvement to ensure production environments remain secure, resilient, and efficient.

    • Design and improve reliability practices, including on-call processes, incident management, escalation workflows, blameless postmortems, and change management strategies.
    • Help shape the platform roadmap by identifying operational challenges, proposing solutions, and driving initiatives from concept through adoption.
    • Build and maintain core reliability capabilities, including observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and incident response processes.
    • Partner with software engineers to improve service operability, promote operational best practices, and increase engineering ownership of production systems.
    • Define and implement service-level objectives (SLOs) in collaboration with product and engineering teams, ensuring reliability goals align with customer and business needs.
    • Investigate incidents and recurring system issues, determining whether solutions require technical improvements, process changes, or cross-team alignment.
    • Support security and compliance initiatives by contributing to access controls, audit readiness, environment isolation, and infrastructure practices required for handling sensitive healthcare data.
    • Help establish a strong reliability culture by sharing knowledge, improving workflows, and preventing teams from becoming dependent on individual contributors.
    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced reliability-focused engineer who combines strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. You should be comfortable operating in an evolving environment where you can define processes, influence decisions, and take ownership of complex technical challenges.

      • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, backend engineering, or related roles with significant production ownership.
      • Experience managing production systems, responding to incidents, participating in on-call rotations, and improving system reliability over time.
      • Strong programming experience with at least one general-purpose language such as Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar, with the ability to contribute to application-level solutions when needed.
      • Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems by identifying root causes, evaluating trade-offs, and implementing impactful solutions.
      • Experience improving engineering processes, such as deployment workflows, review practices, incident management, or operational standards.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
      • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and create structure in an environment with limited existing processes.
      • Experience with reliability practices, cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
      • Nice to have: experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech, and familiarity with frameworks such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
      • Nice to have: experience as an early infrastructure or reliability hire, building systems and processes from the ground up.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive compensation package with equity opportunities.
        • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
        • 401(k) retirement plan.
        • Flexible paid time off policy.
        • Wellness stipend to support personal health and wellbeing.
        • Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
        • Opportunity to work on impactful technology supporting better healthcare outcomes.
        • Significant ownership and influence within a growing engineering organization.
        • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, trust, and continuous improvement.
