Reporting to: EHS Manager Iberia

Role Statement: 

  • Responsible for ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met across Vertiv operations in the Iberia region.
  • Protects workers and company assets by eliminating incident injuries, property damage and adverse environmental impacts.
  • Keeps abreast of latest legislation and research on workplace hazards.
  • Provides field-level EHS support across construction sites, industrial environments and client facilities.
  • Acts as the company representative in Safety Coordination Activities with customers and subcontractors.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operates under general supervision, and within defined guidelines with readily available advice.

Health & Safety Management

  • Conducts safety checks and audits (H&S and Environment) at construction sites, industrial facilities and client locations.
  • Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, near-miss. Align and implement necessary preventive and corrective measures. 
  • Provides training and advice on H&S matters to all company levels.
  • Implements EHS procedures as defined and maintains all necessary records.
  • Participates in Health & Safety Committee meetings.
  • Coordinates access to client facilities with the operations team.
  • Implement applicable legislation regarding Environment and Health & Safety.
  • Involvement in EMEA EHS projects and coordination with international team.

CAE Platforms & Documentation

  • Maintains all online CAE platform documentation up-to-date.
  • Reviews online CAE platforms and documents according to criteria established by clients.
  • Keeps track of internal and external documentation requirements.
  • Manages all legal documents with subcontractors and customers.
  • Keeps all workers' Health and Safety documentation updated.

Training & Medical Coordination

  • Coordinates training courses with external Safety Training Academies and with the External Prevention Company.
  • Coordinates the annual medical tests for all employees.

Representation & Communication

  • Represents the Company in Safety Coordination Activities and meetings with customers.
  • Ensures proper EHS record keeping.
  • Provides full responsiveness (24h) to internal and external customers.
  • Attends required training sessions and meetings.

Internal

  • Ensure proper EHS record keeping.
  • Provide 24h responsiveness to internal & external customer.
  • Attend to the required trainings and meetings when held.
  • Track and report KPIs
  • Maintain ISO Certificate standards and ensure recertifications (ISO 14001, 45001)

Background / Experience / Prerequisites

Required background

  • Official Master’s Degree in Health and Safety (3 specialties).
  • Master's degree in Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment and Health & Safety).  [DESIRABLE]

Experience

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in H&S and in the Coordination of Business Activities requested documentation, Risk Assessment and H&S Plans.
  • Experience working on construction sites and in industrial environments.
  • Experience conducting Health, Safety and/or Environmental audits.
  • Experience working with online CAE platforms (i.e. Coordinaplus, E-coordina, CTAIMA, Nalanda or equivalent).
  • Experience with ISO certification audits (14001, 45001).

Other Requisites

  • Microsoft Office - advanced Excel user. 
  • Experience managing online CAE platforms. 
  • Driving licence (Category B). 
  • Availability to travel throughout construction sites and industrial environments across Iberia. 
  • Accident investigation legal reporting system and timelines, as well as different investigation methodologies (RCA, Fishbone, A3)
  • Knowledge of Portuguese Health & Safety legislation and regulatory framework. 

Languages

  • Spanish - native or full professional proficiency. 
  • English - B2/C1 level minimum. 
  • Portuguese - conversational or professional level. 

Personal Competencies

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with limited supervision.
  • Proactive and well-organised approach to documentation and deadline management.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and professional integrity.
