Our tech provides ships and workboats the intelligence to operate autonomously and remotely, and which increases safety for maritime crews, and radically improves operator productivity.www.sea-machines.com Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineer to join existing software team working on advanced autonomy software for our marine product. The candidate will work closely with the user interface team, system team, artificial intelligence team, and customer support team.Responsibilities and DutiesDevelop, test, and integrate advanced marine autonomy behaviorsDevelop and extend our autonomy API layer.Develop advanced algorithms for autonomous systems.Maintain software documentation and assist in the development of user documentation.Contribute to system architecture decisions across autonomy and API layersDebug and resolve complex field issuesParticipate in on-vessel trials and performance validationCollaborate cross-functionally with Controls, UI, Simulation, and Customer SupportQualifications and SkillsBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or other related engineering field required, MS or PhD preferred.4+ years of experience in C++ and Python software development for commercial products.4+ years of experience developing algorithms for autonomous systems – path planning, sensor fusion, SLAM.Hands-on experience with MOOS-IvP, ROS, or similar robotics middleware frameworksStrong understanding of behavior-based autonomy architectures, and vehicle dynamics and kinematics.Experience debugging distributed systems in Linux environmentsFamiliarity with Docker-based deployment workflowsExperience working with real-world robotic systemsComfortable with a fast-paced development schedule.Job Type: Full-time Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insurance Share Apply Apply for this position Required* First Name* Last Name* Email Address* Phone* Address Resume* We've received your resume.
