Our diverse team possesses decades of government and private sector experience with a work ethos that emphasizes teamwork, collegiality, creativity, entrepreneurialism, and mentorship.

TAG’s Global Center of Excellence serves as the firm’s strategic hub in Gurgaon, leading firm‑wide efforts to identify, develop, and maintain the operational talent, corporate infrastructure, and service innovation needed to enable the firm’s ambitious growth agenda. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong foundation in the business of energy, specialization in one or more subareas of the energy sector (e.g. LNG or grid modernization), and will have recently held a mid-level position within a multinational energy company or consultancy with equities in Asia. In addition, successful candidates will have strong attention to detail, experience managing competing deadlines, and comfort preparing materials for and presenting to senior executives.

This position requires working shift hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time. Candidates must be available and responsive during core overlap hours of 8:00 AM–12:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time each business day (evening hours in India). Additional working hours will be scheduled to meet business needs, with occasional flexibility for urgent priorities.

All interested candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, and references via the application portal on our website. Due to the volume of applications received, responses from our recruiting team may be delayed. No phone calls or emails and whatsApp messages, please.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (e.g.MA, MBA, MS, or similar) with a focus on energy, engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in energy or utilities, including energy consulting and in-house roles at an energy company, utility, or project developer.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or two sub-areas of energy such as power markets, LNG, renewables integration, grid modernization, hydrogen, nuclear, and small modular reactors (SMRs), or industrial decarbonization.
  • Strong understanding of energy commercial structures and delivery models, including power purchase agreements, engineering-procurement-constructioncontracting, operations and maintenance arrangements, and core project-finance considerations.
  • Regional exposure in Asia, including experience engaging with energy stakeholders, such as utilities, grid operators, regulators, project developers, lenders, and investors, or large corporate energy buyers.
  • Proven ability to produce polished, client-ready deliverables, including clear written products and PowerPoint materials for senior commercial audiences.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to brief senior stakeholders, translate technical concepts for non-specialists, and coach generalist consultants to improve accuracy and nuance.
  • Tested workstream management skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

We value professionals who are proactive in exploring new ways to work smarter. Ideal candidates will be comfortable using artificial intelligence tools — or excited to learn how — to increase efficiency, enhance analysis or deliverables, and generate innovative solutions. Familiarity with generative AI platforms or a growth mindset toward emerging technologies is a plus.

Candidates must be eligible to work in India and are expected to work in-person at the TAG GCE Gurugram office five days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with TAG’s client engagement leads and country specialists as a dedicated energy expert on projects involving power markets, LNG, renewables integration, grid modernization, hydrogen, nuclear and SMRs, and industrial decarbonization.
  • Translate policy, market, and technical inputs into clear energy-sector narratives, commercial insights, and decision-ready recommendations to senior energy executives.
  • Lead discrete workstreams within broader client engagements by shaping hypotheses, building workplans, coordinating inputs, driving “so-what” conclusions, and presenting findings to client stakeholders where applicable.
  • Produce polished, client-ready PowerPoint and written deliverables under tight timelines and shifting priorities.
  • Support business development for TAG’s Energy and Sustainability Practice through content expertise, including proposal inputs, pitch support, and subject-matter guidance, without sales-origination expectations.
  • Provide energy literacy support to policy generalists, including practical guidance on PPAs and related commercial constructs, to improve analysis and recommendations.

Benefits

TAG provides competitive benefits with regular training opportunities available to its employees.
