Job ID: LP_00026452-2211Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThis paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and management of the daily operations and activities of the assigned Pharmacy area. The Supervisor establishes the process for effective pharmacy operations including dispensing and distribution, and monitoring, and compliance with applicable State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Performs all functions related to managing the day-to-day operations, scheduling and workflows for both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Leads, directs, coaches and evaluates employees in the performance of operational and clinical functions, standard methodologies and best practices. Ensure the quality, integrity of processes and operational efficiency. Meets and performs all activities associated with the supervision of people.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.* Establishes the responsibilities and schedules to be assigned to pharmacists and technicians, as appropriate. * Supervises day-to-day drug distribution and compounding activities, and assists in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of daily operations of the assigned pharmacy areas. * Serves as a role model and mentor, and assists with unit workload performing the duties of a clinical pharmacist. * Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensures the compliance of the department Policies/Procedures, SOPs, and correct record keeping. * Oversees and assist the training of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students and residents in the assigned pharmacy areas * Assists in budget adherence and performs special projects as assigned. * Evaluates and conducts employee performance reviews.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
