Metrology Software Engineer (Mid-level)
We are looking for a mid-level Software Engineer with a strong interest in measurement systems and electronics to join our Metrology Software team.
In this role, you will work hands-on on developing and improving automated measurement solutions used in high-precision instrumentation. You will independently drive technical tasks while collaborating closely with hardware engineers and other teams.
This position is ideal if you enjoy combining software development with real-world hardware systems, and want to take ownership of complex engineering problems.
- Develop and maintain automated measurement and test solutions for instrumentation systems
- Design and implement software components (primarily using LabVIEW and/or other programming languages)
- Integrate software with electronic measurement hardware and test equipment
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues (software and hardware interaction)
- Improve and optimize existing measurement processes and test environments
- Support the introduction of new measurement solutions into production
- Collaborate closely with Hardware R&D, Software R&D and manufacturing teams
- Work independently on assigned tasks with clear ownership and accountability
- Document solutions and follow internal engineering processes and standards
- Support users during the rollout of new solutions and handle arising issues

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or similar
- Solid understanding of electronics and measurement principles
- Experience in software development (object-oriented approach preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in system-level scenarios
- Ability to work independently and think in a structured way
- Fluency in Hungarian (mandatory)
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Experience with LabVIEW or similar test automation tools (not mandatory – can be learned on the job)
- Experience in automated measurement or test systems
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation or NI hardware
- Programming experience in C#, Python, or similar languages
- Experience working in hardware-software integrated environments
