Job Description Summary
This position provides supports plant production by performing maintenance functions plant wide as assigned, while working under limited supervision.
Job Description
Perform regular assigned checks
Keep logs up to date
Equipment repair, overhaul and troubleshooting
Assist with proper start-up and shut-down of plant equipment.
Follow safety procedures for all work performed
Properly set-up and adjust cutters, Lamb guns, shakers and conveyors
Repair all drive components on plant equipment
Troubleshoot, repair and rebuild the following: Blue Point Case packers, settler, gluers; Triangle package machines; Bosch packaging machines; Dynapacks; Palletizers: Stretch wrappers; Case sealers; Isoflo shakers; Ajax and Eccentric driven shakers; check weighers; belt conveyors; PLC’s; hydraulic pumps, cylinders and accessories; product feedesrs and scalers
Install new equipment as directed
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
Thorough knowledge of plant operations and mechanical systems and equipment
Weld stainless steel and aluminum
Knowledge of solid state electronics
Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
Must be able to communicate using plant 2-way radio system.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 12 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
Climbing to various heights via stairs, ladders and scissor lifts on a regular basis
