About Feanix Bio

Feanix is rebuilding animal breeding from the genome up.

We're a YC-backed startup using whole-genome sequencing and custom ML models to help dairy farmers make smarter breeding and herd management decisions. Our tech is genuinely novel: we can sequence a full genome from a single hair at a fraction of industry cost, our models hit ~90% accuracy prediction on traits where the industry sits at ~30%, and we're the first to crack genomic predictions on farm specific performance.

That edge is showing up in the numbers. In a short time, we've grown to cover 1% of the U.S. dairy industry — 250,000+ cows — with $2M+ in ARR and a waitlist many times that size. Our investors include Initialized Capital, General Catalyst, Collab Fund, Overwater Ventures, and YC.

We started with dairy because our founders grew up on dairy farms. But genetics is a core pillar of every agricultural industry, and we're just getting started.

We're building this with a small, high-caliber team where everyone owns their work end to end. No layers, no passengers, no busywork — just hard problems in biology and software that nobody has solved yet, and the resources to actually solve them. If you're exceptional at what you do and you want to ship work that moves an entire industry, this is the team to do it with.

About the Role

We're looking for a Head of Customer Onboarding to build and lead the onboarding engine of Autopilot. You'll own the end-to-end processes that take new dairy farms from signed contract to fully operational on the platform. This role reports directly to the COO and manages a growing onboarding team, including Operations Analysts, that handles farm onboarding, configuration, and process development. You'll define how onboarding works at Feanix, not just run it.

This is a leadership role at an early-stage company. You should be comfortable setting strategy and jumping into the details-scoping an onboarding timeline one hour and designing a scalable project tracking system the next.

What You'll Do

Farm Onboarding & Implementation

  • Own the farm onboarding lifecycle end to end-from contract signature through initial data ingestion, farm configuration, first report delivery, and steady-state handoff.
  • Design and manage structured onboarding projects for each new farm, with clear milestones, owners, and timelines that are visible to both the internal team and the client.
  • Build repeatable onboarding playbooks that reduce time-to-value for each new farm and scale across different farm sizes, herd management systems, and data environments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies during onboarding-genomic sample collection, data pipeline setup, configuration validation, and client training.
  • Ensure farm configurations are accurate, well-documented, and auditable before first report delivery.

Project Management & Execution

  • Run the operational cadence for the onboarding team; weekly planning, onboarding status reviews, and retrospectives
  • Define and track KPIs (onboarding time-to-value, milestone hit rate, configuration accuracy and onboarding satisfaction) and hold the team to them.
  • Manage the portfolio of active onboarding projects across all client farms, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks as farm count grows.
  • Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and scaling risks in current workflows and design solutions before they become problems.
  • Build the systems and tooling that allow the onboarding team to scale from tens of farms to hundreds.

Team & Leadership

  • Hire, manage, and develop a high-performing onboarding team, starting with Onboarding/Ops Analysts and scaling headcount as the business grows.
  • Set clear goals, standards, and accountability for the team's output-onboarding velocity, report quality, turnaround time.
  • Run structured 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, precision, and continuous improvement.

Client Operations & Relationship Management

  • Build feedback loops so that learnings from each onboarding cycle improve the next one.
  • Partner with the commercial team to set realistic onboarding timelines and manage client expectations during implementation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering and data science to improve internal tools, flag pipeline issues, and prioritize onboarding-facing product work.
  • Partner with the CEO and commercial team on capacity planning, pricing inputs, and go-to-market readiness for new farm segments.
  • Represent onboarding in leadership discussions and contribute to company-level strategy.

Process & Documentation

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive onboarding knowledge base (Gitbook, Notion, or similar) covering every recurring workflow.
  • Standardize how the team documents decisions, escalations, and process changes so institutional knowledge doesn't live in anyone's head.

What You Bring

  • 7-10+ years of experience in operations, implementation or customer onboarding with at least 3 years managing a team in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment.
  • Experience owning customer onboarding or implementation programs, ideally for a technical or data-driven product.
  • Proven track record building operational processes and teams from scratch at a startup or high-growth company (Series A-C preferred).
  • Strong project management skills-you've managed complex, multi-stakeholder implementations with many moving parts and kept them on track.
  • Deep fluency with data-you can dig into a messy dataset, spot what's wrong, and design a system so it doesn't happen again. Comfortable with Excel, SQL, Python, or similar tools.
  • Strong people manager who develops talent, sets clear expectations, and creates accountability without micromanaging.
  • Excellent written communicator-you write SOPs, docs, and postmortems that are clear, concise, and actually useful.
  • Highly organized with a bias toward systems thinking-you solve classes of problems, not individual fires.
  • Self-directed and decisive-you operate well with limited guidance and make good calls under ambiguity.
  • Ability to travel within the United States up to 25% of the time to customer locations and our headquarters

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with dairy or agriculture operations (DairyComp, herd management software, breeding workflows).
  • Experience with project management and operational tooling like Linear, Asana, Deepnote, Gitbook, or similar.
  • Background in biotech, precision agriculture, or another domain where implementation complexity scales with client count.
  • Experience scaling onboarding or implementation operations across 50+ client accounts or equivalent complexity.

Why This Role

  • Foundational leadership hire-you'll define how onboarding works at Feanix for years to come.
  • Direct report to the COO with real influence on company strategy and resource allocation.
  • Small team, high ownership-your decisions directly impact farm profitability and product quality across 250,000+ cows.
  • Fully remote with a collaborative, low-ego team.
  • Early-stage equity opportunity in a company with strong traction and a massive market.

Why You’ll Enjoy Working With Us

  • The People - we have an amazing group of talented, smart and fun people on our team!
  • The Company - we are building something novel that has not been done before which is making a huge impact on the dairy industry!
