Senior Fund Tax Oversight Manager, Officer, State Street Investment Management
Who we are looking for
State Street Investment Management is the fourth largest asset management firm globally. Global Funds Management is responsible for all treasury, fund administration, and reporting for our registered and unregistered funds globally. This includes valuation, board liaison and reporting, financial and regulatory reporting, taxation, expense accruals, service provider oversight, new product implementations and change management.
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements. Currently, 3 days/week are required to work in the office.

Global Funds Management provides a centralized oversight program for various IM products and services by implementing, managing and/or overseeing the administration, tax, treasury, fund governance and regulatory reporting requirements for IM funds.
The strategic objective of the role is to ensure appropriate tax withholding, refunds are executed upon in a timely manner, reporting is undertaken where required, and is done so within the regulatory framework of the tax jurisdictions of operation and investment for SSGA products. We are looking for someone with custody and/or tax advisory background who can help the team and support tax processes for SSGA products.
What you will be responsible for:
- Ensure appropriate tax documentation is in place with the custodians to avail preferential tax rates for EMEA and North American funds.
- Create and update documentation as required to avail preferential tax rates for EMEA and North American funds.
- Provide support for filing of foreign tax reclaims with foreign authorities and payment of such reclaims.
- Regularly review Custodians' portals and reports to monitor tax efficiency for EMEA and North American products.
- Proactively monitor legislative, regulatory, and/or administrative changes and effectively communicate the changes to all members of the team.
- Assists in the tax compliance oversight processes for the Canadian Pooled Funds (i.e., T3 returns, T3 slips, HST returns, final distributions).
- Assists in FATCA/CRS compliance oversight processes for SSIM investment products and corporate entities.
- Answer and handle relief at source/reclaim related queries and escalate as needed.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- Typically 5+ years of tax experience
- Graduate and above preferably in Finance, Business or Accounting
- Proven knowledge around relief at source and reclaim processes for various investment products
Minimum Salary:
zł132 000 AnnualThe minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
