Team members enjoy autonomy and flexibility from day one, so expect to be immediately tasked with solving challenging problems and building new systems that work. We’ll hold you accountable for executing audacious goals, giving and receiving honest feedback, and helping your teammates succeed. You’ll receive respect, kindness, and support from every direction while you figure out how to get it all done.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior Engineering Program Manager at Biofire, you will drive execution across complex hardware and product-engineering programs. The programs you’ll manage will ensure teams have one clear view of what is changing, when changes occur, and dependencies by building and operating a program management infrastructure that keeps work visible, risks explicit, decisions documented, and cross-functional commitments ground in technical and execution reality. This role collaborates across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Certification, Software, and Operations. You will work closely with engineering leaders and peer program managers to surface tradeoffs early, resolve ownership ambiguity, and ensure decisions are carried through to execution on the production floor. The ideal candidate is a technically credible program leader who can maintain a multi-threaded view of product configuration and identify hidden dependencies before they become schedule surprises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain integrated engineering program plans that converge feature development, test/verification, certification activity, and production cut-ins into coherent product configurations.
Maintain a clear view of active engineering work, upcoming configuration changes, cross-module dependencies, certification triggers, production readiness windows, and external commitments.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Certification, Software, and Operations to sequence work realistically and prevent conflicting or obsolete configurations from reaching implementation or external commitment.
Establish and operate lightweight program-management mechanisms, including project scoping and tracking, status cadences, stakeholder reporting, decision logs, escalation routines, and cross-functional follow-up.
Coordinate with peer program managers and functional owners to define durable working agreements across Engineering, Software, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Drive crisp cross-functional decision-making by presenting options, tradeoffs, risk, and recommended paths with sufficient technical and operational context.
Follow through beyond program reviews and written communications to verify that decisions are understood, adopted, and executed by the teams responsible for implementation.
Maintain strong connection to manufacturing execution realities, including build readiness, production cut-ins, technician/supervisor communication, and floor-level feedback during critical execution windows.
QUALIFICATIONS
We understand that not all applicants will possess skills that perfectly align with our job qualifications. At Biofire, we appreciate diverse experiences from various industries, and we encourage all individuals who meet the necessary qualifications to submit their applications. While having the "desired" qualifications may strengthen a candidate's profile, we also welcome applicants with alternative experiences to apply.

Strong technical program planning skills, including sequencing work across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, test/verification, certification, and production readiness;
Ability to understand technical configuration changes deeply enough to anticipate interface impacts, certification implications, production cut-in risks, and downstream execution dependencies;
Strong analytical planning discipline, with demonstrated ability to decompose estimates, identify hidden work, build contingency, and track actuals against plan;
Strong cross-functional influence skills; able to drive adoption and accountability across teams without direct authority;
High ownership, high attention to detail, and strong follow-through; does not treat communication as a substitute for execution.
