Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain privacy engineering services supporting data governance, user controls, anonymization, pseudonymization, retention, deletion, and audit capabilities.
- Implement privacy-by-design patterns and data minimization strategies across applications, data pipelines, and machine learning systems.
- Develop APIs, libraries, services, and developer tools that help engineering teams integrate privacy controls consistently across the technology ecosystem.
- Partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, Product, Data, Machine Learning, and Infrastructure teams to translate privacy requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Support privacy reviews, data flow assessments, technical risk evaluations, and compliance initiatives for new products and data capabilities.
- Improve the reliability, observability, documentation, and maintainability of privacy systems through testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the adoption of privacy-enhancing technologies and modern data protection practices across engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering with experience building and operating production-grade systems.
- Strong programming experience with languages such as Python, Go, Java, Scala, C++, Rust, or similar technologies.
- Experience developing APIs, microservices, libraries, backend services, or platform capabilities related to data governance, privacy, security, or data infrastructure.
- Knowledge of privacy or security domains including anonymization, pseudonymization, data retention, deletion, data lineage, access controls, encryption, audit logging, or data minimization.
- Experience translating privacy, security, compliance, or data protection requirements into technical solutions and engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles, consent management, purpose limitation, and data subject rights.
- Experience with data governance systems, data catalogs, lineage tools, personally identifiable information detection, redaction, or automated policy enforcement is preferred.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and privacy tradeoffs effectively with engineering, business, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
- Experience working with regulated industries, financial services, machine learning systems, or other data-intensive environments is a plus.
- Competitive compensation with an anticipated base salary range of $164,800 - $228,400 USD, depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
