Mid‑Level Business Analyst Job Locations US Requisition ID 2026-167056 Position Category Information Technology Clearance Public Trust Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled Mid‑Level Business Analyst to support the development and implementation of a modernization framework for two existing business applications. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience analyzing legacy systems, defining business and technical requirements, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive modernization initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments where the target‑state architecture and processes are evolving. Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements Analysis & DocumentationElicit, analyze, and document functional and non‑functional requirements from business stakeholders, subject‑matter experts, and technical teams.Develop clear and accurate artifacts such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and decision logs.Translate business needs into system requirements aligned with modern architectures and cloud‑ready designs.Legacy System & Modernization SupportAssess existing applications to understand architecture, workflows, data flows, integrations, pain points, and constraints.Support gap analysis activities by mapping current‑state processes and defining detailed future‑state workflows.Identify modernization opportunities including rehosting, refactoring, re‑platforming, or functional enhancements.Assist in developing modernization framework components such as guiding principles, target capabilities, and migration pathways.Data, Integration, and Technical CoordinationDocument data requirements, data mappings, source‑to‑target transformations, and integration needs between systems.Work closely with solution architects, developers, and security teams to ensure requirements are technically feasible and fully understood.Support definition of API, interface, and workflow requirements for modernized components.Agile/Project SupportCreate and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with modernization milestones and stakeholder needs.Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.Conduct change impact assessments to identify business, process, and user impacts resulting from modernization activities.Provide traceability between requirements, system components, and test cases.Stakeholder Engagement & CommunicationFacilitate workshops, requirements sessions, user interviews, and working groups.Communicate complex topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.Provide regular status updates, risk/issue documentation, and recommendations to project leadership.Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical modernization team. Qualifications 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS DiplomaMust be a US Citizen Must have active Public Trust clearanceSQL skills; experience or similar languages.Experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Ability to document requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.Comfortable working across both technical and business domains.Collaborative, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced modernization environments.Preferred QualificationsExperience with application modernization or cross-system integration.Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps practices and workflow tools.Knowledge of data governance, modeling, and analytics tools.
