Accountabilities:
- Provide expert guidance on software licensing models across major publishers, including interpretation of contract terms and usage rights.
- Support procurement processes by validating licensing needs, analyzing usage data, and recommending optimized purchasing strategies.
- Maintain accurate software inventory tracking systems to ensure full visibility into license deployment, usage, and compliance status.
- Develop and deliver annual software renewal forecasts and reporting packages for government stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical and procurement teams to ensure alignment between software usage, licensing agreements, and operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through license optimization, reclamation, and usage rights analysis.
- Ensure adherence to software asset management best practices and regulatory/compliance standards in a federal environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in enterprise software licensing models, particularly across major software publishers commonly used in large-scale organizations.
- Experience managing software inventory tools and SAM platforms for tracking licensing and usage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret usage data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience supporting procurement cycles, renewal planning, and vendor/license negotiations.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and governance standards in regulated or government environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex licensing concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- US citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust clearance required.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in structured environments.

Requirements:
8+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), Software Licensing Optimization (SLO), or IT asset governance roles.
