Job Description:

Overview

  • Provide independent oversight, challenge, and guidance to ensure effective management of regulatory compliance risk, including oversight of regulatory change identification, assessment, implementation, and sustainment.

  • Support the oversight of regulatory compliance management activities conducted by Risk Owners and business segments, including review and challenge of business impact assessments, implementation readiness and controls for in-scope regulatory changes.

  • Help ensure compliance with internal standards, enterprise risk management frameworks, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including timely adaptation to changes in the regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent oversight of the implementation of regulatory compliance frameworks, standards, policies, procedures, and related control environments across Wealth business lines.

  • Support Wealth Testing activities to assess regulatory compliance risks and evaluate the design and effectiveness of compliance-related controls, activities, and remediation actions.

  • Oversee horizon scanning and regulatory change intake, and review and challenge materiality and Business Impact Assessments to ensure regulatory developments are identified, assessed, and implemented appropriately.

  • Ensure timely updates to the regulatory inventory and associated control mappings, as applicable.

  • Identify, escalate, and report material compliance issues, emerging risks, implementation delays, and sustainment concerns to senior management and relevant governance forums, as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with Risk Owners and Legal, Risk, Audit, and Compliance Program stakeholders to promote aligned, effective regulatory change management and issue resolution.

  • Promote strong documentation, evidence retention, and governance discipline across regulatory change activities, including intake, analysis, implementation planning, monitoring, reporting, and sustainment.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks, risk management, control governance, and regulatory change management practices.

  • Ability to assess regulatory requirements and translate them into practical oversight expectations, including materiality, business impact, and implementation considerations.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to influence and challenge effectively with multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience reviewing implementation plans, tracking delivery milestones, and escalating risks to compliance with regulatory effective dates.

  • Strong documentation and governance discipline, including the ability to assess whether evidence supports timely implementation and sustainment of regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit within a financial institution.

  • Familiarity with enterprise governance, risk, and compliance (eGRC) systems.
