Job Summary
For use in locations where there is only one additional Stores Attendant (A or B) and no higher level Stores personnel. Responsible for material accountability, operation of the storeroom, and directing the activity of the employee assigned to assist. The following sets forth the principal duties required for the job which are normally to be performed. It is not intended to limit the assignment of work or set the degree of supervision under all conditions. An employee may perform miscellaneous, related and incidental work in addition to that outlined below.Job Description
What you'll do:
Issue material, under proper authorization, and process and file required records.
Check received material for quantity; make visual inspection for identity, breakage, and condition; initiate and process material receipt and related records.
Identify, sort and record material returned; place usable material in stock and sort non-usable material into scrap containers; process and prepare associated records.
Establish and maintain adequate inventory levels based on current requirements; order replenishment stock; complete related records.
Operate computer terminals and printers supporting and material management system and operate other office equipment such as calculators.
Prepare and pack materials for shipment or storage; prepare required shipping papers and other related records.
Maintain all Material Services related files and records.
Conduct sale of scrap or other materials, as authorized; initiate, process, and file all related documentation.
Control and coordinate the processing of purchase requisitions.
Conduct inventory counts; clear discrepancies, with appropriate approval, and process all associated records.
Ship and/or receive hazardous material, such as gasoline, oil, oil containing PCB, and lead-acid batteries, following required safety and environmental procedures; prepare, process and file all related records.
Coordinate Material Services efforts with other department personnel to maintain an efficient operation.
Pick up, haul and deliver materials.
Maintain efficient storage of material.
Operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, order pickers, or any other equipment, as required.
Operate Company automotive equipment, such as cars and trucks.
Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment.
Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
Perform duties in accordance with Company safety rules, operating regulations, and practices.
Assist in the training of other employees.
Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
Assist employees of all classifications.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
What we're looking for:
Education requirements are listed below: High school graduate or equivalent in education and/or experience.
Work Experience requirement listed below:
Must have satisfactorily performed the duties of the Company position Stores Attendant A for a minimum of 12 months.
- Prefer a minimum of four years of Material Services experience, including material handling, warehousing, and inventory control.
Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:
Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. In addition, the incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demand level is Heavy
1. Must have satisfactorily performed the duties of the Company position Stores Attendant A for a minimum of 12 months.
2. Prefer a minimum of four years of Material Services experience, including material handling, warehousing, and inventory control.
3. Must have the ability to supervise personnel and direct the work involved in the Material Services function.
4. May be required to pass a demonstration and examination as determined by the Company.
5. Must have demonstrated the ability to keep neat, concise and accurate records.
6. High school graduate or equivalent in education and/or experience.
7. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. In addition, the incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
8. Must have the ability to operate stores material handling equipment.
9. Must be physically able to safely lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
10. Successful completion of the and Support and Administrative (SASS) and Data Entry tests are required for this position.
