As an intern at BIG Barcelona, you will be part of a dynamic and inspiring environment within an international creative community. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experienced architects and designers, while participating in exciting projects, social activities, workshops, and much more.
As a Design Assistant, you will be involved in projects of varying typologies, locations, and scales. Your tasks will include supporting both conceptual development and technical/detail design across different project phases, contributing to drawing packages under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members.
This role offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your design, communication, technical, and conceptual skills, while actively contributing to the ongoing development of real-world projects.
You will assist in the development of design concepts, preparation of diagrams, drawings, visualizations, as well as physical and digital models.
We expect you to have strong proficiency in the following tools: Rhino or Revit, along with the Adobe Creative Suite. As your internship progresses, you will gradually gain more independence, participating in design discussions and proposing conceptual and technical ideas for specific project components. You will also gain exposure to project management processes and studio operations.
Requirements
Have completed at least 2 years of architectural studies.
Have proven knowledge and experience with at least three of the following programs: AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, Revit, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
Demonstrate a flexible and open mindset, with a willingness to embrace new ways of working.
Show initiative and the ability to respond proactively to guidance or instructions.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Be currently enrolled as a student and not expected to graduate during the internship period. Please note that, under Spanish legislation, master's graduates are not eligible for internship contracts. We will verify your student status, and you will be required to sign an internship agreement, together with your university.
Be available for a full-time internship with BIG for a minimum duration of 6 months.
