What is the opportunity?

This role will help support the Delta One/Global Equity transformation initiative by managing daily margining activities for this business line.

You will also be responsible for margin activities across Fixed Income Repo and Discretionary Lending within the Central Funding Group (CFG) at RBC Capital Markets.

Your core purpose is to ensure that all CFG transactions, both bilateral and triparty arrangements remain fully collateralized. This function operates within the Collateral Management team under the COO Group at RBC.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in our London Bishopsgate office.

What will you do?

  • To ensure all CFG clients and counterparties are fully collateralised and marked to market across all entities in accordance with the GMRA/GMSLA or other relevant legal agreement.

  • Act as a point of contact for the CFG desk in relation to collateral questions.

  • Agree and manage both bi-lateral and Tri-party margin calls.  

  • Monitor and manage the instruction and settlement of both Bilateral and triparty settlements.

  • Ensure all relevant daily tasks are appropriately completed in accordance with daily task lists and adhering to RBCs processes and procedures.

  • Participate in portfolio reconciliation with counterparties when a margin dispute arises.

  • Investigate margin settlement fails and liaise with both external clients and internal teams to reach a resolution.

  • To navigate RBC’s structure quickly and efficiently to expedite any queries/asks through to resolution.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • A good understanding of Equities, Fixed Income, Triparty and basic trading strategies.

  • A strong working knowledge of the main Tri-party agents.

  • Excellent understanding of Securities Borrowing and Lending and Repo processes.

  • Nostro and Depot reconciliation experience.

  • A broad understanding of Banking Operations.

  • Previous proven experience of developing STP solutions.

  • A broad knowledge of one or more regulatory regimes, including CASS, Transaction Reporting, MiFID II, EMIR.

  • Be able to deal with Front Office and client demands.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience of implementing new systems.

  • Advanced Microsoft VBA Excel skills.

  • An understanding of the main legal terms in the GMRA and GMSLA that govern the margining process.

  • Experience with vendor platforms such as Pirum, Equilend and TriResolve.

  • Proficient in FIS APEX, GLOSS and Acadia Margin Manager.
