Requirements
- In-depth understanding of operations and processes in the logistics and freight forwarding industry
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within logistics with demonstrated ability to generate new business
- and an understanding of commercial decision-making processes
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with good understanding of commercial decision-making processes and a high level of commercial acumen
- Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively in an African environment.
- As we are an international company, communication in English is necessary
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities in line with country and group strategy.
- Actively map target accounts, stakeholders, and decision-making structures, and build a qualified new business pipeline
- Proactively coordinate with operations, compliance, finance, and management from early opportunity stages to ensure commercially viable, compliant, and operationally executable solutions.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders to support both new business generation and retention.
- Support retention and expansion of existing customers by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities, and by providing new logistics solutions.
- Serve as a commercial interface between customers and local operations.
- Closely align opportunities with local management and group commercial managers to ensure consistency in value proposition, pricing strategy, and customer engagement.
- Support and contribute to high‑quality RFQ, RFP, and tender responses, including pricing, solution design, and risk assessment, and participate in post‑bid reviews to improve future success rates.
