Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with regional objectives and business priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with multifamily developers, commercial developers, owners, architects, engineers, contractors, wholesalers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify, qualify, and manage project opportunities to build a strong sales pipeline and support future growth.
- Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs, influence product specifications, and position solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner with sales teams and distribution partners to coordinate customer engagement and ensure successful project execution.
- Develop pricing and proposal strategies that balance customer value, profitability, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and channel teams to share market insights, customer feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Provide forecasts, project updates, and competitive intelligence to support territory planning and strategic decisions.
- Deliver product expertise, technical guidance, and support throughout the sales process.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence.
- Support field sales teams through coaching, best practice sharing, and collaboration on commercial opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and distribution dynamics to identify new opportunities.
- Manage territory travel, budgets, and administrative responsibilities while supporting overall business goals.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, commercial sales, territory management, or a related customer-facing role.
- Experience in plumbing, building materials, commercial construction, wholesale distribution, multifamily development, or related industries.
- Proven ability to build relationships with developers, contractors, architects, engineers, distributors, and commercial partners.
- Demonstrated success managing a territory, developing opportunity pipelines, and influencing complex sales cycles.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze customer needs, market trends, and project opportunities to create strategic sales plans.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and navigating long-term commercial projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales management tools.
- Ability to travel up to 65% throughout the assigned Midwest territory, including frequent driving and overnight travel.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience influencing product specifications with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, or ownership groups is a plus.
- Familiarity with project tracking platforms such as BuildCentral, Lodging Econometrics, Dodge Construction Network, or similar tools is preferred.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $80,000 - $126,500 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, location, and business needs.
