Strategy Planning & Enablement Sr. Principal, Evernorth Care Management and Express Scripts

We are seeking a Strategy Planning & Enablement Sr. Principal, Evernorth Care Management and Express Scripts, to support enterprise and PBS strategy priorities through structured planning, governance, cross-functional enablement, and targeted business development initiatives. Reporting to the Strategy & Business Development Sr. Director, this role helps translate strategic direction into execution-ready plans, drive high-priority workstreams, and develop insights, materials, and recommendations that improve enterprise alignment, prioritization, and decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic thinking, executive communication, and the ability to influence across a highly matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Strategy Support: Support development of multi-year strategic plans, strategic priorities, and executive-ready recommendations by synthesizing market context, internal insights, financial considerations, and business implications.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and coordinate complex workstreams across business, operational, finance, product, and enablement partners; drive progress through influence, clear ownership, and disciplined follow-through in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Strategic Planning & Prioritization: Help design and manage annual and multi-year planning cycles, develop roadmaps and planning artifacts, define decision points, and connect strategic priorities to investment, sequencing, and resource considerations.

  • Governance & Executive Communications: Own and continuously improve governance routines, executive summaries, status reporting, and decision-support materials that provide clarity on progress, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations for senior leaders.

  • Enterprise Strategy Enablement: Execute components of enterprise strategy enablement through dedicated strategic support, governance coordination, stakeholder engagement, and progress tracking that improve alignment, execution, and accountability across strategic priorities.

  • Leadership Connectivity & Communication Coordination: Drive day-to-day coordination across Evernorth Care Management and Express Scripts leaders and their teams by translating strategic direction into aligned workplans, surfacing dependencies and decisions, and reinforcing clear communications upward to leadership and downward to employees through planning forums, governance reviews, team updates, and related communication materials.

  • Performance Tracking & Decision Support: Build and maintain scorecards, KPIs, issue logs, and action trackers to monitor strategic workstream progress, identify risks, and support timely decisions and course correction.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Master’s degree, or equivalent advanced training in business, strategy, finance, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in enterprise strategy, strategic planning, business development, management consulting, transformation, or chief of staff / strategy enablement roles.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives through influence, including governance forums, planning processes, or transformation workstreams involving senior stakeholders.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to influence and drive change across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of business operations, financial modeling, and project management methodologies.
