ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain exceptional Martis Camp service standards
- Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of Martis Camp buildings at various locations including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, and pools.
- Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, furniture and carpets. Perform troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments on doors, door locks, cabinets, desks, kitchen equipment, pool water and pool equipment, fences, lighting, etc.
- Report malfunctions to the Building Maintenance Manager for coordination on the appropriate corrective action to take and may assist in obtaining quotes for repair work.
- May be asked to accompany outside vendors who are on site to make needed repairs.
- Assist in moving furniture and equipment at all facilities that is necessary for the Club to conduct special events.
- As part of the Ambassador support team, Technicians may be asked to assist with special projects periodically that originate in other departments, open and close buildings, monitor alarm systems, and be familiar with fire sprinkler systems at all facilities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form, maintain work logs, pool records and service requests.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with any Ambassador, department, or MCC member that they come in contact with during the course of their work assignments.
- Any other duties as needed to improve safety and assist fellow Ambassadors in fulfilling Martis Camp’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge -
- Building Systems & Facilities Maintenance: Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, and pool systems.
- Equipment & Tool Use: Safe and effective use of hand and power tools.
- Preventive Maintenance Procedures: Understanding of routine inspections and upkeep for buildings and equipment.
- Safety Standards & Regulations: Familiarity with OSHA guidelines, fire sprinkler systems, and alarm monitoring.
- Basic HVAC, Lighting, and Mechanical Systems: Troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Pool Operations: Knowledge of pool water chemistry and equipment (Certified Pool Operator preferred, must obtain within 6 months).
- Vendor Coordination: Awareness of how to support and interact with external service providers.
- Technical Repair Skills: Ability to perform repairs on furniture, fixtures, flooring, locks, lighting, and plumbing.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues efficiently.
- Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate logs, service requests, and pool records.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication, including bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively with other departments and Ambassadors.
- Event Support: Assisting with setup and teardown for special events.
- Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and managing workload independently.
- Physical Dexterity & Strength: Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Work Independently: Perform tasks with minimal supervision and make decisions on-site.
- Adaptability: Respond to varied maintenance needs across multiple facilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure repairs and maintenance meet high service standards.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.
- Environmental Awareness: Work in conditions involving heat, cold, noise, and wet environments.
- Emergency Response: Support building access, alarm systems, and fire safety protocols.
MINIMUM - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:
- Certified Pool Operator preferred
- Experience with Brunswick pinsetters preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- One to three years of relevant experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodation)
- Ability to grip, carry, and maneuver hand and power tools
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to bend, twist, and kneel frequently, with or without equipment in hand
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds in several forms including boxes, tools, equipment, and materials
