The Per Diem Perioperative Technical Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of procurement of equipment and clinical supplies for the O.R. These activities include maintenance and ordering all medical supplies and equipment.
1. Coordinates the yearly preventive maintenance programs for medical equipment with Clinical Engineering. 2. Coordinates the exchange of equipment for newly inspected items, in accordance with established policies and procedures and with the Patient Equipment Pool (PEP) program. 3. Coordinates repair of equipment by appropriately tagging and taking equipment to designated area. 4. Tests all medical equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment. 5. Assists the Managers with training and skills assessment. 6. Attends and or performs in-services as required. 7. Performs minor technical repairs. 8. Reports problematic or broken equipment to appropriate department. 9. Arranges for the rental of surgical equipment and develops a tracking system in accordance to established policies and procedures. 10. Reviews and analyzes equipment usage and needs in order to maintain adequate equipment/supply level. 11. Participates in environmental rounds. 12. Examines equipment such as suction meters, video towers headlights, oxygen valves, and bed monitors (beeper) and blood pressure cuffs to ensure proper functioning. 13. Directs Support Associate or other designated personnel to receive and/or pick up items from storeroom as needed. Orders and maintains par level of all supplies and equipment. 14. Performs other related duties.
High School diploma (Associates degree preferred) 2 years in a clinical environment
